Randy Thompson, Chair
Randy and Lanie moved to Colorado Springs in 1999 by direction of the Air Force.
Randy retired from the Air Force in 2006 and works in the defense sector as a
consultant. They homeschooled their children, then became part of the Collegium Study
Center shortly after it was founded, and their youngest attended ECA from her freshman
year to graduation.
Randy served on the Collegium board and then served on the ECA
board prior to his current term. He is passionate about Classical Christian education. He
has a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science and a Master’s in Biblical Studies. He is
a ruling elder at Village Seven Presbyterian Church. He enjoys hunting with their two
Labrador retrievers and fishing. He doesn’t get to do either of those two activities often
enough.
Mark Morley, Vice-Chair
With a background primarily in human resources, Mark was introduced to classical education over 20 years ago. From 2006-2010, he served as elementary principal and secondary teacher at a classical Christian school in Kansas City. In 2010, his family moved to Colorado Springs where he assumed the role of Human Resources Director for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Mark formerly worked for the Dobson Family Institute and currently serves as an adjunct instructor at Colorado Technical University. He has a Master of Arts in Human Resources Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications. Mark and his wife, Pam, and youngest daughter, Molly, attend Village Seven Presbyterian Church where he is a ruling elder.
Sandy Beers, Treasurer
Sandy joined the ECA Board in February 2023, and most recently transitioned into the office of Treasurer. Sandy and her family have been involved with ECA since 1984 when their son started pre-school. All three of her children graduated from ECA. She has coached Track and Cross-Country. Her husband, Bruce, has coached basketball since 1989. Sandy’s prayer and desire is for ECA is to raise up alumni and alumni parents to support the school spiritually and financially.
In her professional life, Sandy is a nurse. She has a Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s in Business HealthCare Administration. She has assisted physicians in a start-up Surgery Center and worked to turn fledging hospital departments into profitable entities.
Her skill sets are creating efficiency and quickly assessing talent for any position, and running profitable businesses. Currently, she is working in a preoperative area as a staff nurse. Sandy loves ECA, the deep community it fosters, and the love of Christ and love for each other. Sandy is blessed and honored to be serving on the board.
Lindsey Caroon
In addition to being a current ECA parent, Lindsey Caroon is an executive leader in marketing and communications. Lindsey holds master’s degrees in public health and nonprofit management and specializes in public health marketing. Her expertise in nonprofit management, development, and work as an adjunct instructor help inform her work on the board.
Originally from North Carolina, Lindsey relocated to Colorado in 2017. She is active in her church and frequently volunteers her time with various local nonprofit organizations, including Pikes Peak United Way and Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center.
Jim Johnson
Jim Johnson and his wife, Helen, sought a Christian education for their son (9 th grade) and daughter (7 th ) grade at ECA in 2000. Jim was recruited to serve as Junior High Physical Education teacher, coach and Athletic Director through 2003. Following a 5-year term of service as Executive Director at the Horn Creek Christian Camp, he returned to serve as ECA’s Superintendent from 2008 to 2021.
Since that time Jim has utilized his education (MBA, M.Div. and D.Min.) as he teaches Bible and Greek; and now serves as President at Sangre de Cristo Seminary in Westcliffe, CO. Their children are both grown, married, and have blessed them with 4 grandchildren. Jim is an avid track and field runner and decathlete, with sites on master’s national and world competitions. He serves as a Ruling Elder Emeritus at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, where he and Helen are members.
Andy Pyrch
Andy Pyrch is a proud ECA parent. He and his wife Jenni have four children. He currently serves as a US Army Chaplain at FT Carson, CO. His family moved to Colorado Springs in in 2015. He has experience in the corporate world and in the military. He is a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and worships with his family at Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Tara Seegers
Tara Seegers serves the ECA community as a Board Member, Chair of the Development Committee and on-campus volunteer. She is an ECA Elementary parent and works professionally as a Wealth Manager in the Financial Services industry, guiding multigenerational families.
Tara holds a master’s degree in Business Management and has served in various board capacities across nonprofit organizations in Colorado and Texas since 2010. Born and raised in Canada, Tara has lived in the US since 2008. She and her husband, Chris, chose Colorado Springs as the ideal place to raise their young family and plant long-term roots – initiating their move in 2020. ECA and the school’s mission was an important component of their decision. They are so pleased with how the school pours into the lives of their children, with Christ always at the center. Tara is currently also an active volunteer in her church, the Awana program, and the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation.
Ryan Wellman
Ryan was born in the south, spending most of his life in North Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 2008 and currently works for a Service Disabled/Women Owned Small Business as a Program Manager supporting numerous DoD and Government Entities.
Ryan and his wife, Stephanie, have two children who attend Evangel. Their son, Greyson, is in 3rd grade and their daughter, Emma, is in Kindergarten. The Wellmans moved to Colorado Springs 5 years ago and are members of Village Seven Presbyterian Church. Ryan enjoys hiking, camping and snow sports with his family.
